Tania Lyddiard

Senior Speech Pathologist & Clinical Manager 

Tania Lyddiard is a Speech Pathologist with 25 years of experience, predominantly with paediatrics. She graduated from LaTrobe University in Melbourne, before commencing as a Speech Pathologist at the Royal Newcastle Hospital. Tania has been one of the Senior Speech Pathologists in the Community Speech Pathology Team for 23 years.


Tania believes in providing person centred, evidence based practice in order to assist her clients to achieve their communication goals and enhance their participation in their home, education and community environments. 
Tania has extensive experience in providing speech pathology to Indigenous children and their families, including running Outreach clinics at Awabakal Medical Service and Nikinpa Aboriginal Children’s service for a number of years. 


Tania also has a special interest in trauma and its impact on communication and has experience working with vulnerable families and children in the Child Protection/ Out of Home Care Systems. In 2020, Tania was seconded to the Links Trauma Healing Service, Department of Communities and Justice. She has written journal articles and presented at conferences regarding the role speech pathology plays for children and their carers in the Out of Home Care system. 


Tania also has years of experience in the area of early intervention and is experienced in presenting the Hanen® It Takes Two to Talk and Target Words programs in group, individual and telehealth settings. 


Supervision and mentoring  are also areas of interest for Tania, and she keeps up to date with current practices and interventions through regular peer supervision and as a member of the NSW Paediatric Speech Evidence Based Practice Network.
